Another Season where hope goes down the drain!

Someone please tell me why Stinespring keeps calling the same predictable series of plays? It seems that everyone we play knows what we will do and counter it almost every time. Understandably Foster's Defense is not as great as it has been, but the offense is still lacking as always. We have the talent to do great things but we need the talent calling the plays too. And enough with the long ball! We have not seen the tight ends get into the games either. What happened to quick slants and screens? Do they work too well for us to use? This program has reached a point last year where the fans and alumni expect more from this team and less excuses from the coaching staff. Beamer, tear down that empty trophy case now, because you will never see it until some philosophies change regarding how you play.

beamer is loyal to a fault when it comes to stinespring. i have been complaining about his playcalling for several years.  he has managed to escape too much scrutiny because the defense and special teams scored so many times and created so many short fields.  this year though with the defense and special teams down, his awful playcalling is standing out like a sore thumb.  he may throw in a creative series or two every game but he cannot sustain playcalling for the entire game.  and under pressure, you can count on him running it up the gut.  stinespring must go if virginia tech wants to compete for a national championship.  the acc has figured us out and we better change our act or we are going to be another acc middler like nc st, wake, unc, and god forbid, uva.

I did notice that recruiting for next year look pretty stacked for the team. One DT in particular stands out. Nick Acree. That boy is a beast! If he wasnt going to Hargrave I swear he would have been jucing something bad. He is also highly rated for his position too. Hope we will see him soon. Foster needs to work on getting the DB's together though. We seem a little weaker there than we have been in the past few years. And you are right, The rest of the ACC has figured us out. I love competition and all, but we came in as a Football school and have taken the trophy 3times in our short tenure. I guess they thought we would just be middle of the pack when we came in but VT needs to keep it up.

Yeah, its a shame. VT has great talent but Stinespring is just not up to the task. Considerint the Hokies offensive ranking in the last 5 years, the only thing that has kept the Hokies relevant is the D and special teams. I think if the hokies could get rid of Stinespring and get someone good, and Bud Foster stays around (I would not be suprised if he bolts for a head coaching job in the near future) VT could be in the hunt for the NC every year.

On a different topic, what do ya'll think about the Hokies playing Boise next year? My prediction is that it will be fun to watch the "great" Boise St O have a rude awakening playing a real defense (meaning not a WAC or overrated PAC-10 defense). Thoughts?

I went to the NC State game to see the Hokie live.  It is way different than watching on TV.  Before that I thought BS was the problem.  Afterwards I can say that it is not all his problem.  The offense doesn't always excute well and it starts at QB.  BS is playing a Beamerball game plan.   They have had success for many years with it.  I don't know if it can get them to the NC game unless they get more talent.
